Alex Bogumil
Alex is an experienced APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist and Clinical Educator, with a wide range of clinical and academic expertise in the areas of sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, trauma and orthopaedics.
Since graduating in 2012, Alex has worked across both public and private sectors in South Australia and New South Wales. As a senior physiotherapist at Leading Edge Physiotherapy, Alex is passionate about utilising advanced diagnostic skills and evidence-based rehabilitation protocols to optimise client outcomes following injury and surgery.
In 2018, Alex completed his postgraduate Masters of Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports) at the University of South Australia, and has since worked as clinical supervisor and academic tutor. He continues to educate and teach into the musculoskeletal and rehabilitation courses in both the undergraduate and postgraduate Masters physiotherapy degrees at UniSA.
With additional training in strength and conditioning, sports physiotherapy, spinal pathology, McKenzie MDT and fracture management amongst others, Alex is experienced in, and passionate about treating recreational to elite-level athletes with the aim of achieving goal-orientated functional recovery, performance and injury prevention.
Consulting at both Burnside Hospital and Western Hospital clinics, Alex also enjoys working with patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery and trauma, helping to facilitate their return to meaningful and pain-free activity.
